Design Brief
A performance footwear study for the road to World Cup 2026.
The project began with a simple question from my brother, a soccer fan:
“Why don’t you design a soccer cleat?”
Having never designed one, I saw the approaching 2026 World Cup as an opportunity to explore the category from a fresh perspective.
Rather than starting with existing footwear, I started with the athletes—studying five of the world’s leading players before focusing on Lionel Messi and translating the defining qualities of his movement and playing style into footwear.
THE QUESTION
What would a soccer boot look like if its form were driven by the way an elite player moves?
