PACIFIC SHIFT began as redesign of an On running shoe. The project was inspired by a California sheephead I encountered and sketched at the California Science Center.
Its unusual morphology, bold coloration and ability to transform in response to social and environmental conditions became the foundation for a footwear study centered on adaptability, segmented movement and structural expression. The fish’s coloration and flowing profile shaped its CMF and overall visual identity.
